Moylan Iceplex called us to create a new look that was family-friendly.
The problem with most family-friendly identities is that once the kids get into high school and college, that brand appears dorky. And in return, the company loses some customers. So we needed to figure out a look that was able to cross boundaries and represent ice skating.
The result was a solid mark with an M that emulates the movement of ice skates on ice, with illustrations surrounding it that created a youthful environment that still resonated with an older crowd.
